Pyle, Bridgend County Borough
We provide loft insulation in Pyle, Kenfig Hill and North and South Cornelly, covering the CF33 area between Bridgend and Port Talbot. Our team heads west from Cardiff along the M4 to junction 37, so Pyle is a simple run for us.
This corner of the county is close to the coast at Kenfig and open to weather coming in off Swansea Bay. Plenty of homes here still have the insulation they were built with, or very little at all. We survey the loft for free, explain what's worth doing and what isn't, and send a written quote, usually within 24 hours.
The area's older housing comes from its coal and industrial past. Kenfig Hill and Cefn Cribwr have rows of Victorian and early twentieth-century terraces built for mining families, typically with slate roofs, narrow hatches and lofts split by chimney breasts. In these houses we often find a scrap of old insulation laid decades ago, if anything at all.
Pyle itself and the Cornelly villages expanded heavily in the later twentieth century, with large estates of semis, terraces and bungalows. These usually have concrete tile roofs with timber trusses and lofts that are easy to get around. The original insulation in them was laid to much thinner standards than today's 270mm, and later work such as rewiring or new aerials has often left it disturbed or pushed aside.
On the newer streets around the edges, homes are better insulated from the start, but boarding added by owners can squash the insulation, and gaps around the hatch are common in every age of house.

Some homes in the area have had spray foam applied to the underside of the roof, which can trap moisture against the timbers; we remove it, clean the rafters and re-insulate correctly.

Low-pitched bungalow roofs and lofts used as rooms can be hard to insulate at the floor, and SuperFOIL fixed to the rafters suits those awkward spaces.
View servicePyle and Cornelly sit only a few miles from the dunes at Kenfig, and homes here catch salt-laden wind off the sea. Ventilation at the eaves is important on any job in this area, and we check for condensation and mould while we are up there.
Estate streets usually have driveways or easy kerbside parking, which makes unloading simple. In the older terraces of Kenfig Hill, we'll agree where to park when we book. If your home has spray foam under the roof, our spray foam removal guide explains why lenders and surveyors often flag it, and our spray foam removal service page sets out how we take it out.
Yes. We cover the whole CF33 area, including Pyle, Kenfig Hill, Cefn Cribwr, North Cornelly and South Cornelly. Our team drives along the M4 from Cardiff, and we can book surveys any day of the week between 8am and 6pm, at a time that works around you.
This is increasingly common, as many lenders are cautious about spray foam because it hides the roof timbers and can hold moisture against them. We can remove the foam, clean the rafters so they can be inspected, and re-insulate the loft in the normal way. We'll survey first and price the job once we've seen how much foam there is.
Most standard lofts on the Pyle and Cornelly estates are finished in a single day. The time depends on how much needs clearing first, whether old insulation needs lifting, and whether you want boarding or a ladder at the same time. We'll give you a realistic idea of timing when we send the quote.
